Abington Christian Academy is housed in the beautiful and accommodating United Methodist Church of Chinchilla, conveniently located at 413 Layton Road in South Abington Township. Only minutes away from both downtown Clarks Summit and the north and west sides of Scranton, it is easily accessible from Interstate 81 and U.S. Routes 6 & 11.
Students at the Academy enjoy large and comfortable classrooms, a spacious cafeteria, access to the church auditorium for school programs, and a large fenced-in play-yard. Attendance at school events is convenient, thanks to our large parking area, and parents will enjoy the ease it provides for dropping off and picking up their children.
Because our students’ safety is of utmost concern, we happily follow the legal guidelines governing the hiring of anyone who comes into contact with students. All of our teachers and staff possess the clearances required for school personnel: child-abuse; criminal history; and FBI clearance. All exterior doors of the Academy are locked during the school day, and regular fire and emergency drills are conducted to ensure student safety.
Traditionally, our local school districts have provided transportation for our kindergarten through 4th grade students, with free van or bus transportation to and from the Academy. Because some may only provide transportation one-way, it is best to check with the transportation director of your local school district.
