History

On September 5, 1989, the doors of Scranton Area Christian Academy (affectionately known as SACA), were opened to educate children of all denominations.  Housed first in the Peckville Assembly of God Church, SACA moved to the Clarks Green Assembly of God and changed its name to reflect the community it was serving – Abington Christian Academy (ACA).

In June of 2016 the Academy relocated to the Chinchilla United Methodist Church, where it currently enjoys holding classes in this beautiful, spacious, and accommodating building.  The Academy serves children from Pre-K3 through 4th grade, and is making plans to grow as a center for early education with the eventual addition of a middle school and high school.

Over the past 30 years ACA has been blessed to shape – and to be shaped – by the students, teachers, administrators, board members and organizations who have contributed to its legacy.

We stand today on the shoulders of faithful people who have given time, talents, and financial resources on behalf of the hundreds of young people who have passed through our doors.
